Nat'l Day of Action: Hands Up Don't Shoot

Ferguson is asking for solidarity. Out of the last two weeks of smoke, gas and rage at the loss of life to an overly militarized, segregated and increasingly dangerous police state, Hands Up United is calling for Department of Justice/Federal Building rallies in cities across the nation and across the world.

On Tuesday August 26th, the people of the San Francisco Bay Area can gather at the San Francisco Federal Building at 450 Golden Gate Avenue at 5:00pm to raise hands together.

The shooting of Mike Brown, one in a series of extrajudicial assassinations by police, has been incredibly painful. For black and brown people, it has been a searing confirmation that their lives don't count as much. For everyone else, it has been a hard lesson that race and class structure can determine whether you live or die.
