Today the Direct Action Monterey Network joined a demonstration organized by the Monterey Peace and Justice Center to demand an end to Israel’s assault on Gaza and an end to U.S. military aid to Israel. Israel’s recent airstrikes on Gaza have killed nearly 200 people.

We echo the sentiments coming from Palestinian organizations who “call on conscientious people all over the world, to act, protest, and intensify the boycotts, divestments and sanctions against Israel until it ends this murderous attack on our people and is held to account.”

Of course, ending the current assault is only the beginning. Israel must end its brutal occupation of Palestinian land. To this end, we support the struggle of Palestinians to defend themselves and fight for freedom and self-determination.
Viva Palestina!

Pretty good coverage:

"Shouts of "Free, free Palestine!" and "From the rivers to the sea, Palestine shall be free" filled the air, accompanied by horns from passing vehicles. About 50 people, including some from the Palestine Solidarity Committee, joined the cause, waving Palestinian flags and signs calling for the Israeli government to "End the War on Gaza." In the past week, 178 people have been killed in Gaza, including two dozen children, said Phillip Crawford, president of the Monterey Peace and Justice Center, which organized the 4 p.m. protest outside the West Alisal Street U.S. Post Office."
