We will be screening the 1973 film State of Siege. This French language film recreates the kidnapping of a CIA agent by the Tupamaro guerrillas in Uruguay. Well made and quickly paced, this film tells the true story of the CIA-backed police state that ruled Uruguay throughout the 1960's and 1970's and the rebels that rose to defeat it.
