Mountain climber and environmental activist, Debbie Bulger will take us on a journey remembering The Ventana. Many people around the Monterey Bay appreciate Debbie's wise and humorous writing voice and miss the Ventana's environmental forum and news.
As editor of The Ventana, the award-winning magazine, Debbie dedicated most of her free time for 15 years from 1997 through 2011 editing this environmental magazine.
Debbie will also give us a glimpse of what she has been doing since retiring as editor and will read an excerpt from her recently published book,"In the thrill of the night". If you remember going out to play without parental supervision, this book is for you. If you don’t remember that time and wonder about the freedom children used to have, this book will let you in on the secrets. If you can’t imagine how kids entertained themselves before the smart phone and the internet, you must read this book.
Books will be available for purchase for $14.95 with $5 from each sale donated to the Santa Cruz Group of the Sierra Club for their work protecting the Santa Cruz County's environment.
