Join Justice Now for an epic spring celebration and fundraiser in the Mission! We had so much fun with our End of Year Celebration this December that we had to come back to Dr Teeth for a second round.
Justice Now is an Oakland-based non-profit that works to challenge gendered violence, state violence, and imprisonment. We partner with people in women's prisons to build a movement to end the systemic violence of mass imprisonment. Staff, interns, and Justice Now community members will be at the event and would love to talk more with you about prison abolition and the work we do at Justice Now.
The event will be on Thursday, May 22nd at Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, from 5pm till late. 10% of the evening's proceeds for food & drink will be donated to Justice Now. The bar is known for its good beer, cocktails by the pitcher, and an elaborate menu with everything from homemade corndogs to a jellydonut & fried chicken “sandwich.” Dr. Teeth is located at Mission & 19th, close to BART and other transit.
There will also be an awesome raffle to raise funds for Justice Now. We already have envy-inducing prizes donated by Lush, Good Vibrations, and Sports Basement, and we have many more to come.
We’d love to see staff and interns of past and present, longtime supporters and new friends, and anyone who is interested in learning more about Justice Now, or just having a fun night with a group of fabulous people. The funds earned at this fundraiser help Justice Now do the work we do throughout the year, so your presence and support means so much to us all. We can’t wait to see you there!
