The Miriam Ellis International Playhouse will present its 14th season of fully-staged theater pieces from May 15 through 18th at 8:00 PM, at the Stevenson Event Center on campus. The program will feature works in 5 languages, with English supertitles, Admission is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. Parking in Cowell/Stevenson lots will be available for $4.00 at pay stations.
This unique multilingual, multicultural program will include works in Chinese, “Three Pots of Tea,” an original piece written and directed by Ting-Ting Wu; French will be represented by scenes from Marcel Pagnol’s plays, MARIUS and FANNY, directed by Miriam Ellis; in Russian, Natalya Samokhina will direct her students in a folk tale entitled “Cheburashka and Crocodile Ghenan,” written by Eduard Usdensky; Hebrew music and dance, “Songs of Israel,” will be performed by students under the direction of Galia Rosen; and Spanish students will offer Gabriel García Márquez’s “Something Very Serious is Going to Happen in this Town,” with Marta Navarro directing.
