Peak oil, complex systems, energy, finance, collapse, and thermodynamics are related. We will talk about relationships among these topics using material drawn from Gail Tverberg, David Korowicz, and Tim Garrett. We will include subjects like the liquidation of the major oil companies, Jevon’s paradox, and the relationship between energy consumption and GDP. Our format is that brief points will be presented and then open discussion will follow upon each point. This will be less of a lecture and more of a guided discussion. Many of the points will be made using charts and graphs presented on a small projection screen.
