In Solidarity with UAW and the UCSC 20
We, as Movimiento Estudiantil Chican@ de Aztlan (M.E.Ch.A) de UCSC, a student run, student led organization that is committed to the advancement of civil and human rights of the Raza people, strives for the educational, gender, cultural, sexual orientation, economical, political, racial, and social equity of the community; and who supports the struggle of other progressive movements on our campus and in our communities, stand with our fullest solidarity with UAW Local 2865 and the University of Santa Cruz 20 #UCSC20.
We support the TA's demands and advocate for a STOP to the numerous unfair labor practices placed on student workers today at UC's statewide. Teacher Assistants are a crucial part of the educational system created by the UC systems. It is the TA's that allow undergraduates to receive the attention and clarification that have been obstructed the increase of class sizes. The intimidation used against directly impact ALL Undergraduate and Graduate students.
Along with UAW Local 2865, we are also in solidarity with the #UCSC20, which includes community members and allies. We demand that UCSC drop all charges against these members. We will continually stand in solidarity with these members, and will support opposition to the University's intimidating tactics and brutality. Hasta La Victoria Siempre!
