The Woman in the Trees is a short film about a brief moment in time, captured and refracted through a letter written to a friend. In the film, we travel the dreamscape of Oakland and the little mysteries that permeate this surreal city. This film describes a world of nomadic squatters, forgotten tenants, hostile law enforcement officers, bitter slumlords, and hauntingly beautiful landscapes.
Filmed in the winter of 2013-2014, The Woman in the Trees is a production of The Cinema Committee, in collaboration with the Oakland Council for Revolutionary Arts and the Biblioteca Popular Victor Martinez.
Please join us for our release of this new film.
