This film series is a fund raiser for the National Post
Office Collaborate and the Save the Berkeley Post Office
Committee. They are working to keep our Berkeley Post Office
from being sold by the USPS. The Collaborate was
successful in saving a post office building through legal action
when a preliminary injunction was issued against the sale of the
historic Stamford, CT Post Office. We may have to pursue legal
action to save the Berkeley Post Office. Unfortunately, legal
action is quite costly and funds must be raised to continue.
To donate on line, please go to

This series of 1930s New Deal films gives us a picture of
federal efforts that improved lives of Americans during the
Great Depression. Tonight, the first film
shows FDR's inauguration and putting America to work--
building the Tennessee Valley and Boulder Dams, responding
to disasters, creating sewing industries and child care.
The second film shows the signing of Social Security,
Mortgage Insurance, FDRs visit to the Civilian Conservation
Corps, help for the Dust Bowl victims and finishes up with a song
by Al Jolson.
Sponsored by the BFUU Social Justice Ctee & Save the Berkeley Post Office
Suggested donation $5-$10. No one turned away.
Wheelchair accessible.
