Today thousands of protestors at the State Capitol building demanded Governor Jerry Brown impose strict regulations on fracking. Most speakers said fracking should be banned completely and that was the mood reflected in the signs and songs at the large rally. The protestors said they want Governor Brown to sign an executive order to place a moratorium on fracking in California.

Speakers noted that fracking is a dirty and destructive form of fossil fuel extraction. Kassie Siegel with the Center for Biological Diversities Climate Law Institute speaking before the gathered protesters said fracking has NO place in the state of California. She said that fracking is going on in at least ten counties today...with virtually no oversight.

A song heard sung by grandmothers: We don’t want your fracking turning all our water brown, Take your freakin’ frackin’ drills or we will shut you down! Hydro-FRAC-turing just sucks.

by No democratic party domination of our movemen
i notice that the report didn't mention the widely pubilized fact that Jerry Brown has clearly stated that he supports Fracking . I know nothing about Rosmund Fielder but i suspect (i hope i'm wrong ) she's one of those eco liberals that supports the democratic party no matter what .
I assume that's why there is also no mention that Cindy Sheehan , the famed anti war Mom, attended the rally as a candidate of the Socialist Peace and Freedom party . Unlike Brown she 100 % opposes fracking . As do all of the other PFP and Green party candidates
So the question to the leaders of the movement against Fracking is Which is more important to you, Stopping Fracking and other crimes against our planet or Loyality to a party that talks ''Green ''but acts Corporate ?
You can't have both .
