A reading by the author, physician and anthropologist, Seth Holmes. Seth says “I would say right now in the midst of debates on immigration reform and health reform that we need to remember that immigrants are people. There’s a lot of debate about immigrants in the abstract that goes on among politicians without listening to the stories of, the voices of, the realities of actual immigrants themselves.”

Join Food First in a discussion with Seth Holmes as he shares his experiences of living with and working alongside these farmers for five years in California and Oaxaca, then traveling across the Arizona desert with them, getting caught by border patrol and jailed, and then picking berries with them in Washington State.
