A national wave of organizing by low wage workers under the banners of Fight for $15 and OUR Walmart is making itself felt in Oakland in workplace organizing and the Lift Up Oakland ballot campaign to raise the minimum wage to $12.25 and mandate paid sick days. Join us to discuss the way forward for this movement and hear the case for a grassroots worker-led campaign for a living wage for all workers.

Featured speakers:

- Trish Kahle: Kahle is a Whole Foods worker, currently involved in the struggle for a Whole Foods cashier who was fired for taking a day off to care for her special needs son when schools were closed due to extreme cold, and part of the Workers Organizing Committee of Chicago.*

- Pamela Davis: Davis is a former Walmart worker who was fired from the Richmond Walmart for joining an Unfair Labor Practices strike in 2013, and a leader of OUR Walmart* in the Bay Area.

- And more TBA!
