Kamala Harris - Do Your Job! Prosecute Killer Cops!
...It shall be the duty of the Attorney General to see that the laws of the State are uniformly and adequately enforced. The Attorney General shall have direct supervision over every district attorney and sheriff and over such other law enforcement officers as may be designated by law, in all matters pertaining to the duties of their respective offices, and may require any of said officers to make reports concerning the investigation, detection, prosecution, and punishment of crime in their respective jurisdictions as to the Attorney General may seem advisable.
Whenever in the opinion of the Attorney General any law of the State is not being adequately enforced in any county, it shall be the duty of the Attorney General to prosecute any violations of law of which the superior court shall have jurisdiction, and in such cases the Attorney General shall have all the powers of a district attorney.
Kamala Harris is the Attorney General of the State of California. But she is not doing her job.
Andy Lopez' murder in Santa Rosa in late 2013, Alan Blueford's execution in Oakland in the spring of 2012, Ernest Duenez' cold-blooded assassination in Manteca in June, 2011; these are just three examples of many where the District Attorney refused, despite a plethora of evidence, to indict the law enforcement officer who pulled the trigger, demonstrating clearly that "the law of the State is not adequately enforced..."
As such it becomes the Attorney General's duty to prosecute, yet Harris has continually refused to do so. No police officer has, in memory, been prosecuted by the Attorney General, even though that is the only way - given the corrupt and inbred relationship between District Attorneys' offices and local police - they could ever be held to account.
On February 13th, at 3:00 PM, initiated by the Justice 4 Alan Blueford Coalition, a
rally, speakout and concert will be held to demand justice at Kamala Harris' Oakland office at the State Building at 1515 Clay St., Oakland, CA.
Speakers will include Elaine Brown, former head of the Black Panthers in Oakland, Dan Siegel, representing the Bluefords in their wrongful death lawsuit against OPD, and representatives from a number of families with loved ones killed by police violence.
It's time to demand justice. It's time to demand the Attorney General of this state DO HER JOB! Come and help us tell her so!
