Friday, February 7--a picket at the Russian Consulate, 12pm-1pm, 2790 Green St. (at Baker), San Francisco, featuring chanting and speeches by Amnesty International, Radical Women, Federation of Gay Games--Team SF, Freedom Socialist Party and others; 5:00pm: rush hour traffic banner/sign waving at Harvey Milk Plaza, Castro & Market Streets, San Francisco; and 5:30–8:30pm, Team SF will host a Pride House and Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony watch party at HiTops Sports Bar, 2247 Market (bet. 16th & Sanchez), San Francisco.
Bay Area community activists are holding actions demanding queer and civil rights in Russia and in solidarity with targets of escalating repression on the opening days of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Activities on Friday, February 7 and a Rally on Saturday, February 8, 11am-1pm, UN Plaza (see separate listing).
