In the 1980’s, the C.I.A. flooded urban centers with crack-cocaine as a means of funding the Right-wing insurgency in Nicaragua but also as a way of attacking the power of the black community. Join various community speakers as they discuss this history, its impact and meaning today, as well as the ways in which the Black Panther Party addressed drugs in Oakland and across the United States.
Speaking live will be Gerald Smith, former member of the Black Panther Party in New York as well as others.
Event is free, refreshments and revolutionary literature on hand.
