Potluck lunch and a very special presentation by Patrice Young. Join us for a well-rounded look at modern slavery and human trafficking. Role play and first-hand victim stories provide a deeper understanding of how personal circumstances create trafficking vulnerability. Have your questions answered and take away resources to learn more along with tools to actively fight slavery in your life.
The scourge of modern slavery/human trafficking embodies racism, sexism and social injustice. The anti-slavery movement focuses on the big picture of human rights as well as the specific areas of women's rights, immigrant rights, workers' rights and children's rights. Recognizing these intersections and working collaboratively where the movements share common goals will benefit all with the power of a greater force of allies.
Sponsored by the BFUU Social Justice Ctee 510-275-4272
Suggested donation $5-$10. No one turned away.
Not wheelchair accessible.
