Occupy Forum presents…

“People- Powered Debates!!”

In order to give the attention that is due to so many issues that go ignored by the mainstream we need to create our own debate system and format: a tiered, structured, point- oriented system that tracks the conclusions, truths and ideas generated. By doing so, we can not only ensure that it is transparent and fair, but that it is also progressive in a way that helps us come to solid conclusions and ideas that would both be motivational and actionable. Building momentum and inviting representatives and leaders of groups of all types to participate, we can expand it’s audience and build its influence through social media. And maybe, when it comes time for elections (whether local or higher), those would- be candidates will want to partake in our debate system -- and maybe even debate against you or me.

Javier Ocasio is a member of Veterans for Peace, a long time participant in the Occupy Movement in D.C., an Army/Iraq Veteran of 15 years and his work is primarily focused on providing actionable solutions to solve problems at their source.
