I heard from the Water Department that we are not currently using Loch Lomond for our water use. That's good news. It's not good news that we're using 8.1 million gallons of water per day. That indicates a an outdoor water use of close to 25%---really a waste of water for this time of year. You can find this information on water use, reservoir levels, etc at this city webpage: http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/index.aspx?page=1311
The Water Commission meeting on February 3rd, 7pm is an opportunity for the City to respond to this record-breaking drought. It's also a good time to offer input to make the new Conservation Plan the best that it can be.
