Free film: The Ghosts of Jeju
The film focuses on the struggle of the people of Jeju Island, South Korea. Set in the context of the American presence in Korea after World War II, the film documents atrocities committed at the hands of the U.S. Military Government of Korea and the current struggle of the people of Gangjeong Village who are actively opposing the expanded U.S. military presence (to accommodate the “pivot to Asia”) just as their relatives did in 1947. The spirit of the villagers and their supporters will inspire and motivate those who believe there is a better way to live together on this planet.
