SAN FRANCISCO, CA- Root Division presents Multiply & Conquer, a mixed media exhibition exploring how multiples and copies can challenge and highlight the complexities of consumption in contemporary culture. The artists in this exhibition utilize the multiple as a means of “conquering” restrictions and regulations on information dissemination and challenging the “benefits” of industrial mass production. They also highlight exploitation and further complicate the role print, digital, and 3D reproduction play in society. Presented at Root Division as part of the 2nd Saturday Exhibition series and in conjunction with the Southern Graphics Council Conference, this show is guest curated by Jon Gourley, a printmaker and Studio Artist at Root Division.
