Toast the accomplishments of outgoing Bay Area Freedom Socialist Party Organizer Extraordinaire, Toni Mendicino, for seven years of dedicated leadership in community activism. Toni’s many contributions include: being a mainstay in the battle to preserve public education in the Bay Area, especially at UC Berkeley, and building solidarity with Puerto Rican student rebels; as a labor activist who supported striking nurses, janitors and hotel workers, university workers and many more; and as the Bay Area campaign manager for the Durham/López presidential ticket, where she defeated the California Secretary of State’s attempt to exclude socialist feminist candidate Stephen Durham’s name from the ballot.
Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar while raising a glass to Toni and welcoming new organizer Luma Nichol. A program featuring music, oration, roasts & toasts will begin at 5:30pm. Children are welcome. Site is accessible.
