Join the Committee Against Police Brutality as we host the screening of "Books Not Bars" a documentary film about public policy, prisons, the justice system, and youth advocacy around the declining investment in public education. CAPB is making the call to mobilize different organizations to come together for a peoples power assembly, addressing the different issues surrounding youth in different areas of San Diego leading up to the prison industrial complex.

About Books not Bars
This inspiring youth-led movement against the growth of the prison industry in the U.S..
Books Not Bars organizes the largest network of families of incarcerated youth and champion alternatives to California’s costly, broken prison system.
What Books not Bars is currently are focused on:
-Closing the Division of Juvenile Justice and placing youth in community-based programs.
-Ending the misuse of Solitary Confinement in California's youth prisons and county jails.
-Addressing the overcrowding of California's adult prisons through sentencing reform.
-Building the leadership of our families to become advocates for themselves and for necessary reforms to the prison system.
