The News is the new place to see fresh, queer performance by Bay Area artists. On the first Tuesday of each month The News will spotlight performance pieces, experiments, and works in progress by pre-selected solo artists, groups, or troupes. An informal session for artist-led critical feedback follows the performances.
January’s theme “The Ages” builds upon intergenerational, collaborative projects by OutLook Theater Project, featuring artists ranging in age from their 20’s to their early 80’s. A combination of interactive performances created in community by the OutLook ensemble seek to answer the question, “What is age to you?”
This January The News features performances by the OutLook ensemble (Derik Cowan, Rebecca Schultz, Anthony Julius Williams, and Jason Wyman) as well as Shirley Acuna, Star Amerasu, Donald Curry, Dazie Grego, Lynn Johnson, Allison Kenny, Anne Carol Mitchell, Ida VSW Red and others to be determined.
