Gaza in Crisis:
Eyewitness Report
by Eva Bartlett, Human Rights Activist & Journalist

San Josè Peace & Justice Center
48 South 7th St.
San Jose, CA 95112
Sunday 15th December
6:00pm - 9:00pm

The situation in Gaza is one of critical importance, and is sadly largely far from the corporate media’s radar. The 1.7 million Palestinians locked under blockade, occupation, and now darkness, in the Gaza Strip suffer from an endless list of preventable–and dangerous– injustices, and have been so suffering for years, at least since 2007.

Eva Bartlett will be speaking on the reality of life in Gaza, including the dangers posed to fishers, farmers (and anyone in the border regions), the numerous and layered aspects of the blockade on Gaza, and the various Israeli wars waged upon the Palestinians of Gaza.

Get informed about Gaza, one of the greatest manufactured (and preventable) crises and on-going creeping genocides in the world.

Eva Bartlett is Canadian. She lived in the West Bank in 2007 volunteering for International Solidarity Movement (ISM), until she was deported by the Israeli government. Determined to continue her solidarity work with Palestinians, she arrived in Gaza in 2008 on one of the five Free Gaza Movement boat trips that successfully arrived in Gaza from Cyprus, breaking the Israeli blockade and collective punishment of Palestinians. Besides volunteering with ISM, she immediately began publishing articles in the Electronic Intifada, Inter Press Services (IPS) and other news sites. Eva remained in Gaza through the brutal assault by Israel in 2008/2009 and continued living there until recently.
