Direct Action on Big Corporations
Wednesday, October 30th
11:30am
Meet at Donahoe Labor Statue, 1st and Market Street
In addition to Wells Fargo, there are a number of Big Corporations who are aggressively lobbying and spending money on politicians to deceive voters and in the name of more profit to hold back the recovery. We will be targeting a company that has been holding back our campaign to fix the housing crisis.
Dear JwJ Allies,
Across the country, tension is brewing on campuses and in communities as our public education system continues to be terribly underfunded and privatized, with growing inequality and declining access. The economic crisis coupled with divestment from public education has compromised students ability to achieve living wage jobs and not be stuck in years of debt. Student debt now totals a staggering $1.2 trillion.
Here at home, we face the potential loss of City College with its broad mission to protect educational access for low income and immigrant communities, veterans, older adults and workers displaced from the current economy. Indeed, inequality is up and quality is down.
Join the ReFund California coalition and the national Campus Equity Week to support reinvestment in public education and services and demand that big corporations and the 1% pay their fair share. It's time to ReFund California and restore equity! Sign up here to attend and support.
In Solidarity,
Gordon, Kung and Sasha
