On Saturday, November 2, ATA Gallery's OTHER CINEMA presents the third in its series of Experimental Genre programs, this one, just after Halloween, celebrating SCIENCE-FICTION, with elements of HORROR thrown in for good measure.

Our XPERIMENTAL SCI-FI show happens to be the occasion for the NorCal performance premiere of SODA_JERK, an awesome twosome of sublime digital-video collage and resonant cultural critique.

Soda_Jerk, here in the Bay Area for a month-plus residency, deploys its considerable film-historical intelligence towards the production of a haunted seance, in The Carousel, beautifully displayed via twin video projections!! This tandem "seance fiction" performance navigates a marvelous universe of sci-fi, mysticism, techno-horror, kung-fu and zombie flicks, in an attempt to resurrect the cinematic dead!

Also out of Australia, David Cox' speculation on our tech-saturated near-future, Other Zone, stars Stelarc in a magisterial morality tale on Autonomy vs. Corporate Control.

PLUS premieres from Caroline Koebel, Thorsten Fleisch, Shanna Maurizi, Pierre Conti...AND, flying in from Seattle, George Koszulinski's multimedia re-animation of Frankenstein, a hand-processed, amped-up 16mm epic action projected over Georg's own shuddering body!!!
