Carroll L. Estes, Ph.D., Founder and Former Director of the UCSF Institute for Health & Aging, Professor Emerita, UCSF School of Nursing, Board Chair of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare Foundation, and
Jodi Reid, Director of the California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA)

Jodi Reid will discuss threats to Social Security and Medicare, particularly in the light of both party’s holding these programs hostage in negotiations over the Federal Budget and Debt Limit, and how seniors, people with disabilities, children, and low-income families can fight to preserve and improve these programs.
