Litquake and MCCLA are proud to present the Book reléase Party of two iconic poets, Nina Serrano (Oakland) and Teresa Palazzo Conti (Argentina).

Nina Serrano is a San Francisco Bay Area poet, activist, radio producer and educator. This year (2013) she released her poetic trio HEART SUITE including HEART'S JOURNEY 1980-1999 and HEART STRONG 2000-2012, by Estuary Press.

"Nina Serrano's poems swirl in different directions...her words and images tell the tale of a woman existing in the middle of history–in an age in which, strangely enough,it seems absolutely necesary to affirm that can feel love. How in the murderous twenty-first century...can love exist at all? " Jack Foley,Poet, critic, radio host, author of visions and Affiliations: California Poetry from 1940-2005. Teresa Palazzo, Argentinian poet, with eight books published and winner of international prizes. Her bilingual book “Alegato de mujer/ A Woman's Plea” contains photographs by Bay Area artist Adrian Arias. Published by Mariposa Blanca.

She has attended Conferences and Seminars around the world, and has received several international awards. She believes firmly in Poetry as a bridge of understanding and reassurance between people. Keen observer of pain and love, war and peace, she wields words as the only possible weapon.
