Turmoil in Egypt: The Myth of "People Power" and The REAL Revolution Needed -- A Video of a Talk by Author and Revolution Correspondent, Raymond Lotta
The military in Egypt, with the backing of the U.S., has staged a coup against the government of Mohamed Morsi. The fact that this coup has support from sizeable sections of people, including from many who have been in the streets, does not make it positive or progressive.
On August 14, 2013, Raymond Lotta spoke at Revolution Books in New York on what is happening in Egypt.
*The delusions and self-delusions of "people power."
*The deadly dynamic thrusting one section of people into supporting the military's actions (and objectively its U.S. backers) and another section into supporting reactionary Islamic fundamentalism.
*But there is another way: communist revolution as reenvisioned by Bob Avakian.
