Join us for a night of creative, personal and fun presentations that will push the boundaries of traditional lectures. In the traditional PechaKucha format, we have invited community members to present on the chosen theme, Found in Santa Cruz, inspired by our upcoming exhibit Santa Cruz is in the Heart. PechaKucha comes from the Japanese term for the sound of “Chit Chat”. Originating from Tokyo, this innovative presentation format is a creative, informal, fast-paced and concise. The speakers of the night are:
Peter Chester: UI Designer, Surfer, and Dad
Kyle Abbott: Musician
Kyle Theirmann: Pro surfer and do-gooder
Veronica Yovovitch: Phd student at Wilmers Lab
Susie O’Hara: Water engineer, Mom, and Staff to the City of SC Public Safety Task Force
Wes Modes: DANM MFA & Systems Architect at UCSC
Bryant Austin: Photographer and Multi-media artist
Victoria Pozos-Bernal: Food What Program Participant, Student, and Farmworker alliance
Geoffrey Dunn: Author and Documentary Filmmaker
Wine and beer will be available for purchase.
Seating is limited. Early birds get a seat.
