Santa Cruz Music at the MAH is back with a thrilling explosion of musical performances, music lessons, instrument making workshops and sound art pieces. Local Santa Cruz musicians, artists and organizations will fill the museum and Abbott Square with music from various genres and cultures. Bring your own instrument and join in the fun.
From Brazilian Samba to Jazz, Indie Rock to Opera, and Blues to Rock, a series of ongoing performances in the atrium and Abbott Square will celebrate diverse local talent and have you dancing all evening.
Sound artist David Coll will show his interactive metal sound panels. Andrew Meave will create an immersive sound art installation that creates sound and colors that react to the frequency and amplitude of your brainwaves. Inside you can also create abstract ink prints from the power of the speakers.
Kid Happy Hour 4-5PM *Please note these activities will extend through the evening.
Special musical activities just for young kids in our classroom every 3rd Friday from 4-5. Make rainmakers and maracas. Special guest, MusicalMe will lead a special kids only music jam session.
