With the verdict of the Trayvon Benjamin Martin case that found George Zimmerman not guilty many of us are appalled, outraged, and deeply saddened.

What we will do next as a community will be a testament to our strength, resilience, and grace when faced with adversity.

That is why, among the plethora of things that we must do next as a community to heal this grave injustice, a peaceful gathering to remember a life cut short must happen.

This gathering will occur on On Tuesday, July 16th, 2013 at 6:30 PM on the steps of City Hall in San Francisco.

Bring candles for yourself and others if you can.

Please tell your friends, family and associates.

Tonight's candlelit rally for Trayvon was a success. About three hundred showed. A number of prominent people spoke including city supervisors London Breed, Malia Cohen, Jane Kim and David Campos. Also speaking was Commissioner Andrea Shorter as well as a number of people from our faith community including Pastor Amos C Brown Sr.
