Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots animal liberation group that seeks to challenge speciesist culture and end the slaughter of animals in the US. We take a historically informed approach to our activism and are inspired by others who took nonviolent direct action, from abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison to civil rights advocate Martin Luther King Jr. to AIDS activist Bob Rafsky. Above all, we dream big: animal liberation is possible and will happen with our effort. Only a few months old, we're growing exponentially and are already making waves. We'd love to have you join us.
On Saturday June 6, we'll be gathering for an open meeting. We'll discuss our organizing principles, welcome those new to the group/movement, and have a discussion on improving our activism. DxE organizer Brian Burns will present an idea for a campaign dubbed "Radicalize Berkeley" and lead a conversation about how we can win animal liberation. Finally, we'll chat and screw around as we always do.
More info about the group is on our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/482297948513612/) and on our website (http://directactioneverywhere.com/).
