"No Pride in Assimilation/No Future in Capitalism" read the banner an anarchist contingent carried in Friday's Trans March in San Francisco, one of the kick-off events of Pride Weekend.
Crass commercialism was the main theme of the official Pride Parade on Sunday with floats from the likes of Bank of America, AT&T and Facebook. CEO Mark Zuckerberg rode his way through the event, despite his decidedly right wing views on immigration (he pushed for emphasis on high tech talent in current bill) and his insistence on supporting the XL Pipeline.
A contingent of supporters of Bradley Manning nearing 1000 in number reflected the Pride Parade's original radical roots.
