BART and AC Transit Workers, Public Workers
United We Stand, Divided We Fall
Tens of thousands of workers in the Bay Area and the state are working without contracts or face contract expirations. At BART & AC, management is spending millions on professional union busting “consultants” and lawyers paid for by the riders and taxpayers to fight workers and their unions. This hard line against worker conditions and rights is forcing labor to join together to take unified action to stop the epidemic of anti-labor attacks. These high paid managers and consultants are demanding concessions on healthcare, pensions and working conditions despite previous wage freezes and other givebacks. It is the same game plan and playbook as the employers are united on concession bargaining in every workplace. They are already attacking and blaming the workers for any strike action at BART when this has been organized and provoked by management. Their arrogance and brazen union busting tactics knows no bounds.
The attack on health and safety conditions and bullying of workers is rampant throughout BART, AC and many other agencies and companies. With over 1.5 million public workers in California it is past time that all public workers unite and win back their rights and conditions.
Speakers From BAC Transit ATU 192, ATU
1555, IFPTEU Local 21 Oakland, State Workers and others.
