Please join us for our next WOMEN'S POLITICAL DISCUSSION & POTLUCK. This event is for women-identified members of our community.
On May 2nd the FBI placed former Black Panther Assata Shakur on the "most wanted terrorist" list, making her the first woman on that list. Shakur has been Living in Exile in Cuba since 1984. Why is the FBI targeting her as a terrorist today? What is the significance of this act for women organizers and for communities of struggle?
We will be watching some clips from "EYES ON THE RAINBOW: THE ASSATA SHAKUR DOCUMENTARY" and a response to the recent FBI branding of Assata Shakur as a terrorist by ANGELA DAVIS to kick-off our discussion.
