Life on this planet is not possible without water. Yet, all across the globe, people are polluting, diverting, pumping, and wasting limited supplies of fresh water as population and technology grows. Rampant over-development of agriculture, housing, and industry increases the demands for fresh water, often well beyond the finite local supplies, ultimately resulting in desertification. The documentary, “Blue Gold: World Water Wars,” explores the causes, crisis, and solution. It will be shown free of charge on Saturday, May 11, at 1:30 p.m., at the future home of Niles Discovery Church, 36600 Niles Blvd., Fremont. The screening will be followed with a discussion.
