Presentation by Gloria LaRiva, labor, community & anti-war activist. La Riva has been to Venezuela many times since the 1998 election of Hugo Chavez, most recently in early April 2013 just prior to the election of Nicolas Maduro. She has engaged in extensive discussion with leading members of the Bolivarian Revolution, including the late president, and has written extensively on Venezuela. National coordinator of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five, La Riva has also worked for decades to end U.S. hostility toward Cuba.
