Date:
Sunday, April 21, 2013
Time:
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Event Type:
Class/Workshop
Organizer/Author:
Davin Wentworth-Thrasher
Location Details:
We'll be meeting at Inspiration Point in the Presidio near the Arguello St gate by Jackson St. We'll be walking down to El Polin Springs and ending at the Inspiration Point parking area.

Join us for a walk through El Polin Spring, one of of the Presidio’s native restoration sites to view how humans can participate in repairing and replenishing a watershed in San Francisco - resulting in a rich diversity of plants and birds. We’ll talk about some of the plant species you might come
across in the spring that can add some zest and nutrition to your plate, as well as flowers and herbs traditionally used to make medicinal tinctures or teas, and how birds and other pollinators interact with the flowers and shrubs. We’ll also discuss the geologic and aesthetic history of the Presidio
and how you can get involved in on going restoration efforts.
WHAT TO BRING
Good walking shoes, layers to keep your warm or cool as necessary. Tap water in a reusable water bottle and to-go ware to sample some pre-prepared wild foods. Cash or Check for $25 + $5 for food sample if you’d like.
