Rally Against Gun Violence in Palo Alto
Rally participants in Palo Alto's Lytton Plaza this evening said that unfortunately supporters of the National Rifle Association's position will oppose reasonable legislation to ban semi-automatic and military-style firearms. They gathered to demand that measures proposed in Congress be debated and votes taken. They raised candles and then their cell phones to tell House Speaker Boehner that although Republicans may oppose some of the measures he must allow them to come to a vote.
Demonstrators said no member of Congress should oppose universal background checks for people attempting to buy guns. They stand for tougher penalties for illegal purchases. They said they want more funding to help states deal with mentally challenged persons, especially since they may try to purchase guns. They asked "who would wonder why?" when our media is full of gun violence, and shooting people is glorified in TV and movies.

The rally was organized by the officiously behaved O.F.A. (Organize for Action) group representing Menlo Park and Palo Alto. The Raging Grannies sang some right-on songs....

That's what I say
I think so ?How about our fifth amendment just too start with . what about congress giving up their right actually their duty to not let any president of the united states have their power that has been fore thought by our founding fathers that's why we have three branches of government because we are a REPUBLIC not an DEMOCRACY there is a very big and important issue i believe the real conversation just started yesterday with an filibuster by Rand Paul at the senate to hold the nomination of john Brendon as the CIA directer. just to get some body any body's attention as to what the heck is going on here everyone seems to agree with the language written in the white page or pages released as an explanation or do i dare say a very Vauge explanation as to the standard's for a Drone hellfire missile launched on an American citizen a non combatant here on the new battle field the united states i guess without declaration of war the battle field is where ever it is not convenient to capture or detain a person and of course the standard's go on and on with even more ridiculousness i don't know i thought i might be able to raise enough curiosity too have some one with a lot more skills than i to take a closer look at this our country as we know it is not our country as it should be or was planned out to be by our founding fathers when the bill of rights was designed our constitution was written this should be alarming to any American no party lines needed here straight up an American concern so much more is going on here that we the general public does not even know in fact both parties are involved so it should be a citizen concern please some one pick up this conversation
