Mindfulness Meditation in Stockton!
Every Monday 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
The purpose of this group is to share and support mindfulness meditation (sometimes also called insight meditation) or Vipassana practice in the Stockton, California area.
We will share sitting meditation, walking meditation, perhaps some simple mindful movement, and a talk or discussion centered around our practice.
This type of meditation is based on the Theravada Buddhist teachers of the Ajahn Chah and Mahasi Sayadaw lineages and Western Insight tradition as brought to the West by Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, Jack Kornfield and teachers of that lineage.
For those who are new to this practice, you will find that this type of meditation is wonderful for clearing your mind, with very little "metodology" or "expertise" needed!
There is no fee or cost. Instead the group is supported by "dana" or "gifts" as support for our IMS teacher, Lori Wong, and for our Unity Center. Dana is an ancient practice based on a culture of giving rather than a culture of exchange.
We are happy to provide an opportunity to bring mindfulness meditation to the Valley. We hope you will be interested in sitting with us!
All are welcome – please drop in. If it is your first time and you are not familiar with meditation, please come about 15 minutes early.
For more information, contact Marylee Revels at Unity, 209-466-5569 or Lori Wong, 209-343-2748.
