Women Rising in Los Altos

At Noon on Feb 14 Come to Main Street Cafe on 134 Main Street Los Altos--where Valentine's Day meets One Billion Rising. On Feb 14, women all over the world will stop what they are doing to recognize this statistic: 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped in her lifetime. Most violence against women is committed by someone they know, often an intimate partner. We at the Los Altos Community Foundation's WOMEN~SV program (offering resources and support for women involved with affluent abusers) in collaboration with 4 other women's groups invite you to bring a poem, song, or valentine that expresses the meaning of true/ healthy love. You can buy lunch or a snack there too.
