Call Out from the newly formed Oakland Bread and Roses Collective
“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation,
and that is an act of political warfare.” –Audre Lorde
and that is an act of political warfare.” –Audre Lorde
THIS IS A CALL OUT
To caregivers, parents, best friends, and elders.
To feminists of all genders, queers, transfolks, and radicals.
To allies.
To anyone who enjoys a meal after a long day of struggle.
In light of recent state and police repression, and in solidarity with
the long history of anti-racist, anti-capitalist struggle, we seek to
create networks of practical support and solidarity.
We reject the sexist notion that caregiving is secondary to any other
sort of organizing. Instead, we place this work at the center of
building sustainable networks of radical support. We acknowledge the
toll that collective and individual trauma has on our lives and we
work to create spaces in which we can heal.
We are a ride home.
We are a warm meal.
We are a safe space.
We are mutual aid in action.
We are a community of respect and support.
If you ‘d like to get involved, contact us at breadandrosesoakland@gmail and look out for a meeting announcement.
Love and Rage,
Bread and Roses Collective Oakland
* The Bread and Roses Collective is a small group of people who have been
involved in Occupy Oakland and other Bay Area struggles. We’ve been
dreaming about this project, but don’t want ownership or control. We
want this to be a collaborative effort that can grow into something
that serves the community

1) Destroy OO by co-opting it with your fake group.
2) Form your own fake group (or several of them) after OO ends to control and divide the left.
Looking the events that have transpired since the OO's inception, it seems these people who took down OO are using an updated COINTELPRO playbook. A pre-Reagan policy of containment is being used rather than a rollback.
"They" are using a containment strategy because of the formation of new groups after OO has been destroyed. They know that there will always be people who see through the capitalist propaganda thats so pervasive in our media and culture and will organize to get rid of that. So instead of rolling back the forces on the left as represented by Occupy, they would first co-opt it and then destroy it and then form their own fake groups, like this "Bread and Roses" bulllshit. Note how they use the same rhetoric as Bay of Rage.
