Imagine the impact of a triple homicide – not just on the victimized families, but also on the community, prison guards, the perpetrators’ families, and even on the perpetrators themselves. Into the Abyss is a fascinating exploration of a triple homicide in Conroe, Texas.

Award-winning director Werner Herzog probes the human psyche to explore why people kill—and above all why the state kills. In Into the Abyss, the master filmmaker presents intimate conversations with those involved in the murder, including 28-year-old death row inmate Michael Perry, who’s scheduled to die within eight days.

Discussion will be led by Ana Zamora of SAFE CA. YES on prop 34.
