Class Struggle in South Africa
In the wake of the Marikana massacre, renewed attention has focused on the class struggle in South Africa and its international significance. What does opposition to post-colonial capitalism look like in South Africa today? How has the anti-apartheid labor militancy of the 1980s translated into anti-capitalist struggle since the transition? Gerald Smith and Charles Rachlis will give us their views on this important topic, with discussion moderated by Bob Patenaude.
