The Assault on Public Education
How do we defend our children’s future?
How do we protect our public education system in California against the corporate assault that is cutting programs, closing down schools, raising fees, and imposing a destructive testing regimen? Do we support Prop 30 and hope for more crumbs from Gov Brown and his corporate bosses? Or do we develop independent political action backed up by mass organization and direct action by teachers unions and student groups. Join our panelists from local community and student groups and teacher unions. Come prepared to discuss the issues.
FROM OUR PEACE AND FREEDOM PARTY PLATFORM: “Provide full free quality public education through university level. Teach the history of workers' struggles and labor's creation of society's wealth and progress.”
This is part of our on-going Socialist Forum Series on the first Saturday of every month from 2-4:30 pm. The featured panel will start promptly at 2:30 pm and the forum will end by 4:30 pm, but folks can stay and talk as long as you like.
