Location Details:
The circle (with one large tree) in front of City Hall (corner of Jefferson and Middlefield) in Redwood City.
It isn’t camping…or even sleeping…but it IS our first overnight Occupation in Redwood City!
This event begins Friday, September 28th, in front of Redwood City’s City Hall (Jefferson and Middlefield). From the end of our General Assembly (usually around 8) to the early morn, we will have activities to keep you awake, enjoying yourself, and occupying. Practice your right to peaceably assemble, while taking back our common space that is all too often corporate-controlled. While this “encampment” will only last one night, physical occupation has been a powerful tactic and symbol for our movement against income inequality. This is the perfect opportunity to attend your first ORWC event, or to occupy along with your friends and family who have not yet been involved. Stay as long as you’d like. We hope that this will be a big, lively event with lots of people. Your presence matters!
The official program of activities will be announced a week before the event. It may include skill shares, crafts, games, discussions, a film screening, constellation viewing, or a dance party!
