This event is part of "Reclaim, Rebuild, Reskill: a Series on Growing Your Resiliency".
Come join us for a free youth bike repair day at Healthy Hearts Garden in North Oakland. Cycles of Change and their BikeMobile crew will provide free tune ups and repairs for youth. The BikeMobile will show how to fix flat tires, adjust brakes and gears, and replace worn out parts such as chains, seats, and tires.
Youth will also have a chance to style their bike with tape and foil. There will be a bike-powered smoothie maker and free food provided. All youth who attend will receive a free tire patch kit.
Hosted by Phat Beets Produce (http://www.phatbeetsproduce.org) and their Dover Park community garden program and Cycles of Change (http://www.cyclesofchange.org).
All youth are welcome to participate in the bike activities and encouraged to bring bikes to work on. We will have a couple demo bikes on hand for those that don't have a bike but still want to learn bike repair.
