A27 RNC 2012 Photos & Video
Rain accompanied with a tornado warning put a damper on today's police actions.
A series of marches took place today at the RNC in Tampa. While police came out in full force, often outnumbering demonstrators 4 to 1, any opportunity to use their newly purchased toys came to a sudden halt when torrential downpour sent them back to their barracks.

ha. It looks like they're getting some nice exercise and overtime pay.
I remember that in 2008 (and also in 2004, 2000), there were effective groups organizing for people to come to St. Paul and Denver. They didn't just put up some flyers locally, but they spent several months planning, inviting people from other cities, arranging for their housing and transportation, coming up with an acceptable schedule of events for the different protesters coming.
This time, there was limited local organizing and the results show - most people are saving their energy for other events this fall and did not travel to Tampa. The efforts of the livestreamers and shows like Democracy Now! are really appreciated, both for covering the police state outside the convention and highlighting what the republicans are saying.
Let those police practice their maneuvers out in the subtropical rain while protesters are elsewhere, free from infiltration or cheap arrests for clothing/backpack style
